NSW Train Station Upgrades
This project involved the assessment of 5 train stations in Sydney and Wollongong that were to be upgraded to achieve an increased level of accessibility. The stations were located at Newtown, Unanderra, Broadmeadow, Quakers Hill and Windsor.
The scope of work included installation of new lifts, stairs, platform surfaces and access to the stations due to removal of platform areas and construction of new platform areas.
This project involved ‘accessibility upgrades’ of the existing train stations to bring them into compliance with the relevant provisions of the Building Code of Australia (BCA).
The role for AED was to identify significant non-compliance matters in comparison to the requirements of the Deemed-to-Satisfy (DTS) provisions of the BCA, as relevant to the new works forming part of the various developments on the stations
