AED Group can provide the following services:
- Initial cladding assessment reporting involving inspection and review of the building’s external cladding to ascertain the level of compliance with C1.9 and C1.14 of the Building Code of Australia (BCA), the Building Products (Safety) Act 2017, and the various requirements of Council Fire Orders.
- Assistance with arranging sample testing. AED engage a suitably qualified third party to carry out the required sample testing to inform all our assessments. The process generally involves the collection of various samples from the subject sites, then testing by a suitably accredited laboratory to ensure all assessments are done so based on accurate “as installed” product information. Following the sample testing, AED will assist in interpreting and analysing the test results.
- Providing Expert litigation compliant external cladding assessment reports suitable for use in Supreme Court and NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) proceedings.
- Performance Based assessments to determine compliance with the Performance Requirements of the BCA where a non-compliance exists with the prescriptive provisions of the BCA.
- Project management of replacement cladding and supervision of works including final certification to current BCA requirements suitable for finalising Fire Orders (where relevant). Our services essentially provide a “one stop shop” from start to finish where cladding replacement is required.
- Assistance with the preparation of reports and ongoing liaison with Council regarding Fire Order requirements relating to external wall cladding & external wall construction.
