Snowy Hydro 2.0

Snowy 2.0 is Australia’s largest committed renewable energy project, underpinning thousands of MWs of intermittent renewables through its 2,000MW of capacity to pump, store and generate electricity.

It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia. Snowy 2.0 will underpin the nation’s secure and stable transition to a low-carbon emissions future at the lowest cost for consumers.

The project involves linking two existing dams, Tantangara and Talbingo, through 27km of tunnels and building a new underground power station.

AED were engaged to provide Building Code Consulting, Certification, and Fire Engineering advice for the construction of the various workers accommodation camp buildings associated with the Snowy 2.0 project. Most recently, AED have also been engaged to provide Building Code Consulting advice and certification for the various surface buildings containing equipment storage, conversion and also supplying the national electric network in Australia.
